I am starting my twenty-seventh year in the Davidson County School System where I have served as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1990.  I earned my Masters of School Administration degree from Appalachian State University.  Over the past twenty-five years, I taught third and fourth grades at Reeds Elementary and Midway Elementary.  I served as the Assistant Principal at Davis-Townsend Elementary for two years.  After leaving Davis-Townsend Elementary, I was named the principal of Friedberg Elementary where I served as principal for three years.  Before being named as the principal of NDMS, I served as the principal of Welcome Elementary for four years.  I am proud to be a product of the Davidson County School System, where the education of the individual student is a top priority.  I look forward to continuing my career as the principal of NDMS.  Go Black Knights!!!

Assistant Principal, Melanie Donithan

My name is Melanie Donithan. I am starting my fifth year in the Davidson County School System, where I have served as both teacher and assistant principal. Prior to coming to Davidson County I taught for five years in the Iredell-Statesville School System. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in English from Radford University in 2006. I also attended Gardner-Webb University, where I earned a Masters of School Administration degree in 2012. Over the past nine years I have taught high school English at both Statesville Senior High and North Davidson High School. I then went on to serve as Assistant Principal at East Davidson High School, before being appointed Assistant Principal for North Davidson Middle School. I am looking forward to the new experiences and challenges that come along with this new endeavor, and with being a part of the North Davidson community once again. GO BLACK KNIGHTS!!!
