Beginning Tuesday, April 21st, the OpenGate Weapons Detection System will be used at North Davidson Middle School to screen for prohibited items as students and visitors enter our facilities. This technology allows us to add an extra layer of safety while maintaining a safe and efficient arrival process for everyone entering our campus.
Students will be expected to remove the following items from their backpacks and hand them to a staff member before screening: chromebooks, 3-ring binders, umbrellas, metal lunch boxes, metal glasses, and pencil cases. Our staff will be present to help guide students through the process as we begin using the system.
