- B.S. degree in elementary education (K-6) from Blue Mountain College
- Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Mississippi
- Certified with National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in 2002; renewed in 2011 and 2022
- Certified in grades 6-9: English/Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies
- 15 years teaching in elementary (K, 1, 3, 4, and 5)
- 7th and 8th grade at NDMS since 2013
- 28 years total teaching experience
