Grading Policy
Grading Scale: A (90-100), B (80-89), C (70-79), D (60-69), F (0-59)
End-of-quarter grades are calculated based on the following:
MAJOR (tests, projects, presentation, papers, etc.)
MINOR (quizzes, group activities, class activities)
CLASSWORK (daily assignments)
Homework
Any classwork not completed in class will be homework. Adequate time is given in class for students to finish their work. If a student has a lot of social studies homework, he/she is probably not using class time wisely. Points are deducted for late work.
Stay Informed
- Check Parent Portal at least once a week.
- Sign up for the team Remind to receive texts and emails.
- Check school website for school announcements.
Other important information about the class:
- Classes will begin daily with a bellringer. Students must begin work upon entering the room.
- Come to class with the necessary materials daily.
- Students may bring a clear water bottle. Water only. No gum or candy.
- Assignments need to be neat and orderly when given to the teacher. Student work must be labeled with student’s FIRST and LAST name. Points deducted if not labeled correctly.
- Points deducted for late work.
- Follow the class and school rules.
