Flute Players

Cleaning rod and soft cloth

Clarinet and Saxophone Players

Swab

At least 3 good reeds should be kept at all times and keep them in rotation.

6^th graders can start playing on Rico or Juno brand reeds.  2 ½ or 3 hardness is appropriate for beginners, we will move to Van Doren brand reeds 2 ½ or 3 hardness after 6 weeks.

7th and 8^th graders should use one of the following brands with a hardness that is comfortable to you:  Van Doren brand 3 – 4 hardness

Legere brand (plastic) 2 ½ - 3 ½ hardness

Reed Guard (to keep reeds dry and to prevent chipping)

Cork Grease

Trumpet and Low Brass Players

Mouthpiece (7C for 6^th Grade Trumpet – 5C for 7^th and 8^th Grade Trumpet – 6 ½ AL for Baritone – Conn Helleberg Standard for Tuba)

Valve oil

Tuning slide grease

Snake

Mouthpiece brush

Soft cloth for wiping off oils and grease

French Horn Players
